Texans Acquire Joe Mixon from Bengals in Trade Deal

New corridor for C.J. Stroud and the Houston Texans. On Tuesday, they agreed with the Bengals on a change by Joe Mixon.

Cincinnati was going to cut Mixonbut the plan changed and they rescued at least one 2024 seventh-round draft pick.

Houston lost its 2023 starting running back, Devin Singletarywho signed in free agency with the Giants. Dameon Pierce, who they sat in 2023, was the other running back on the roster.

Mixon has one more year on his contract, for $5.75 million. Cincinnati released him after acquiring Zack Moss and by having Chase Brownwho showed explosiveness at the end of the season even with the loss of Joe Burrow.

A 7-year NFL veteran, Mixon is a one-time Pro Bowler and surpassed 1,000 rushing yards four timesin addition to four campaigns with at least 40 receptions.
