Tennis professional Alexander Zverev wins his first game in Miami

Tennis professional Alexander Zverev confidently won his opening match at the Masters tournament in Miami. Zverev won against Canadian Félix Auger-Aliassime 6:2, 6:4 on Saturday (local time). In the third round, the fourth-seeded Olympic champion will face Christopher Eubanks from the USA.

Against Auger-Aliassime, Zverev was good from the start and started with three break points, which he couldn’t use. The 26-year-old Zverev got the first break in the third game and the second in the seventh, while dominating on his own serve.

In the second set, Zverev started with a break and continued to serve confidently; in the entire match he only gave up two points on his own serve. After 76 minutes, Zverev converted his first match point.

Koepfer is also progressing

Dominik Koepfer had previously also reached the third round in Miami. The 29-year-old defeated 18th-seeded Argentinian Sebastián Báez 6:3, 6:2. In the next round, Koepfer will face 14th-seeded Frenchman Ugo Humbert.

While all German women have already been eliminated, Jan-Lennard Struff, Daniel Altmaier and Yannick Hanfmann are also there among the men. Hanfmann will play against Frenchman Adrian Mannarino in round two, Struff and Altmaier will meet in a German duel.

Number one seeded Indian Wells winner Carlos Alcaraz from Spain reached the third round just as confidently in two sets as Australian Open winner Jannik Sinner from Italy and defending champion Daniil Medvedev from Russia.
