Sara Errani and Jasmine Paolini have secured a place in the quarterfinals of the “Miami Open”, the fourth WTA 1000 of the season. The 36-year-old from Massa Lombarda and the 28-year-old from Castelnuovo di Garfagnana, in the round of 16, beat the German Laura Siegemund and the Chinese Yifan Xu, eighth seeds, 6-4 6-1, in just under one and a half matches. Not before Wednesday “Sarita” and “Jas” will return to the field to play for a place in the semi-finals either with the Chinese Xinyu Wang and Saisai Zheng or against the Russians Ekaterina Alexandrova and Irina Khromacheva.
The two Italians have already won a title this season, last February at the WTA 500 on the fast indoor court in Linz.
