Danielle Collins won the Miami Open beating Kazakh Elena Rybakina, number 4 in the WTA rankings. The thirty-year-old American, number 53 in the world, surprisingly won 7-5, 6-3. She is the lowest ranked tennis player to win the Florida tournament. This is Collins’ first WTA 1000 title.
At the beginning of the year, the American announced that she would end her career at the end of the season.
