Jan-Lennard Struff reached the third round of the Masters tournament in Miami (USA). On Sunday (March 24th, 2024) the Warsteiner won the German duel with Daniel Altmaier 6:3, 6:3.

Struff and Altmaier faced each other for only the second time on the ATP Tour in Miami. Altmaier won the first duel in three sets in the second round of the French Open in 2020, when he later celebrated his greatest success to date at Grand Slam level by reaching the round of 16.

Used the first breakball straight away

In Miami, Altmaier had his serve games under control, just like Struff, until the score was 3:4, before Struff earned the first break points and with the first one the decisive 5:3 lead. On his own serve, Struff made short work of four points in a row.

In the second round, Struff got the next break in the first game, after which he pulled away to 5:2 and used his second match point to make it 6:3 after 80 minutes.
