The second day of the Paralympic Track Cycling World Championship, which is being held in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), stood out this Thursday on the Spanish side with Ricardo Ten’s third place in the 200 m CRI of the omnium in C1, approaching his goal of a new podium.
This 200 m CRI test does not award medals or a champion title, but it does add to the omnium and Ten took an important step for the general classification. He was third after stopping the clock at 12 “565 and added this result to the fourth place obtained a day earlier in the individual pursuit test.
Ten already accumulates 70 points, four ahead of fourth place occupied by the American Aaron Keith. First and second are the Chinese Zhangyu Li and Weicong Liang, with 80 and 76 points respectively. Then the also Spanish Luis Javier Arcega was eighth in the 200 m CRI of the omnium in class C2, with a time of 12″885; in addition, Eduardo Santas finished ninth in the 200 m CRI of the omnium in class C3, with a mark of 11″911.
In the individual pursuit of the C4 class, Damián Ramos approached the Final B for the bronze, but finally finished in fifth position due to his time of 4’36″567. Looking ahead to Friday’s day, the Spanish team will participate with Eduardo Santas in individual pursuit of class C3 and with Damián Ramos himself in the scratch of class C4.
