Swiss Open 2024 Schedule, 6 Indonesian Representatives Hunt for Semifinal Tickets

KOMPAS.com – The 2024 Swiss Open schedule has entered the quarter-finals which will take place at St Jakobshalle, Basel, Switzerland, Friday (22/3/2024) starting at 14.00 local time or 20.00 WIB.

A total of six Indonesian representatives are scheduled to compete in the quarter-finals at the 2024 Swiss Open.

They are Leo Rolly Carnando/Daniel Marthin, Muhammad Shohibul Fikri/Bagas Maulana, Sabar Karyaman Gutama/Moh Reza Pahlevi, Apriyani Rahaya/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti, Lanny Tria Mayasari/Ribka Sugiarto, and Gregoria Mariska Tunjung.

The struggle of Indonesian representatives will be opened in a match by men’s doubles, Leo Rolly Carnando/Daniel Marthin.

Leo/Daniel are the third seeds, both of them will face Malaysia’s sixth seeds, Man Wei Chong/Kai Wun Tee.

The match will be Leo/Daniel’s opportunity to avenge their defeat after previously being beaten by Man/Kai with a score of 21-17, 22-20 in the semifinals of the 2023 Malaysia Masters.

If they win, Leo/Daniel has the possibility to face fellow countrymen, Muhammad Shohibul Fikri/Bagas Maulana, in the semifinals.

Fikri/Bagas have a stronger advantage over their opponents, Supak Jomkoh/Kittinupong Kedren (Thailand). Both are recorded as having won 3 matches in a row over Jomkoh/Kedren.

The opportunity for the All Indonesian Final will be open if Sabar Karyaman Gutama/Moh Reza Pahlevi Isfahani are able to win in the other matches.

Sabar/Reza appeared in the second match to face Malaysian representatives, Choong Hon Jian/Muhammad Haikal.

There are also Indonesian women’s doubles representatives, Apriyani Rahaya/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti, who will appear in the second match against Margot Lambert/Anne Tran (France).

The final ticket for Indonesia can be achieved first if Apriyani/Fadia wins and the other Indonesian women’s doubles representatives, Lanny Tria Mayasari/Ribka Sugiarto, also win the match.

Lanny/Ribka will face Rui Hirokami/Yuna Kato (Japan).

On the other hand, Gregoria Mariska Tunjung will appear as the Indonesian women’s singles representative.

Jorji, Gregoria’s nickname, will compete against Pornpawee Chochuwong (Thailand). In the history of their meetings, both have a record of 3 wins and 3 losses.

• 21.05 WIB – MD: Patience Employees Gutama/Moh Reza Isfahani vs Choong Hon Jian/Muhammad Haikal (Malaysia).
• 21.55 WIB – WD: Lanny Tria Mayasari/Ribka Sugiarto vs Rui Hirokami/Yuna Kato (Japan).
