Strong Performances by JCW U10 and U12 at Berger Young Talent Cup

The JCW U10 and U12 show strong performances

The first round of the Berger Young Talent Cup for the U10-U16 age groups took place in Krems on March 17th. The tournament was strong with a total of 281 starters from 25 clubs.
14 athletes from the Wimpassing Sparkasse judo club made their way to Krems to get points for the cup standings, 10 of them were able to win precious metal at the end of the day.

A total of four medals were achieved in the U10 category. Oliver Rella (-24kg) lost his first fight, but was able to secure third place with two more wins.
Felix Fischer only had to admit defeat in the final in the strong weight class up to 27kg and was able to celebrate the silver medal.
Freya Brunner (-32kg) fought for third place with two wins and two defeats.
Lino Fank fought a weight class higher than usual and also reached third place with one win and one loss.

In the U12 age group, all starters from the Wimpassing Judo Club were able to celebrate medals.
Magdalena Klöckl (-28kg) gave her opponents no chance, won twice by ippon and thus secured victory.
In the up to 30kg class, Gor Hakobyan lost his first fight, but then showed strength and fighting spirit and was able to win third place.
Vanessa Supin (-32kg) achieved second place with one defeat and one win.
Tyler Kerbler (-34kg) lost his first fight, but was able to prove himself against his opponent in the fight for bronze and secured 3rd place.
In the up to 36kg class, Skadi Brunner defeated all of her opponents and took home the gold medal.
Marlene Lechner had to give up a fight to her opponent, but secured second place in the class up to 40kg with two wins.

The performances shown by our fighters on this day form a very good basis for the 2nd round of the Berger NWC on June 15th. in Baden and the overall annual ranking.
