Stéphane Morel appointed Director General of the French Tennis Federation

Since Monday, the French Tennis Federation has had a new General Director in the person of Stéphane Morel, who has held the position of Deputy General Director for six years, in charge of commercial development.

Stéphane Morel replaces Caroline Flaissier in this position, who had been laid off and whose interview prior to dismissal took place on March 5. Until now, his role had seen him oversee all marketing and commercial aspects of the FFT’s operations, including media, merchandising, ticketing, sponsorship and hospitality packages. Before joining the FFT, Stéphane Morel had worked for fifteen years for the NBA, from 1997 to 2012, as head of the Europe-Middle East-Africa zone.

In a press release, the FFT specifies that Stéphane Morel, “who has extensive knowledge of the French tennis ecosystem and global sport, (…) will have the priority of ensuring the continuation of the ongoing transformation, to ensure the success of the main upcoming events (Roland-Garros, Olympic Games, Rolex Paris Masters) and to implement actions to strengthen continuous dialogue with the Federation’s employees.
