Jonathan Milan appears to be the fastest sprinter at this year’s Tour of Italy. Veteran Geschke collects one point for the mountain jersey.

Jonathan Milan took his second stage win on the fourth sprint finish of the 107th Giro d’Italia. The Italian prevailed on the eleventh section after 207 kilometers from Foiano di val Fortore to Francavilla al Mare, ahead of the Belgian Tim Merlier and the Australian Kaden Groves. The German sprinter Phil Bauhaus had to settle for ninth place.

In the overall ranking everything remained the same. Superstar Tadej Pogacar is still 2:40 minutes ahead of the Colombian Daniel Felipe Martinez from the German Bora-hansgrohe team. Former Tour champion Geraint Thomas is third, 2:58 minutes behind. Another podium contender, Belgian Cian Uijtdebroeks, who had previously placed fifth, dropped out due to illness.

Meanwhile, veteran Simon Geschke gained one point in the mountains classification on Pogacar. The 38-year-old is still 45 points behind Pogacar. Nevertheless, Geschke can also wear the blue mountain jersey on the undulating twelfth stage over 193 kilometers from Martinsicuro to Fano on Thursday because Pogacar continues to wear pink. Geschke, who is retiring at the end of the season, led the mountains classification for nine days in the Tour de France in 2022 before he was intercepted.
