Spalding to Host Intercollegiate Freestyle Basketball Championship in Tokyo in 2024

Spalding (Spalding Japan Co., Ltd.: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, Representative: Toshihiko Ogasawara; hereinafter referred to as “Spalding”), a sports manufacturer that supports athletes around the world, will open the event hall at one of the largest event halls in Koto-ku, Tokyo on Saturday, March 2, 2024. We supported the Intercollegiate Freestyle Basketball Championship (IFBC), a freestyle basketball tournament held at HYPERMIX Monzennakacho to determine the number one among university students, graduate students, and vocational school students.
Freestyle basketball is a new type of performance that combines basketball with music and dance. Instead of just dancing with the ball, freestyle basketball involves super-high-speed dribbling in time with the sound, various ball handling, and acrobatic movements. It is a highly entertaining competition.

This is Spalding’s third sponsorship of the IFBC, following in 2018 and 2023. Spalding supported this tournament through various sponsorship activities, including the provision of the LUMINOUS SERIES, a ball developed to play in a variety of environments such as hardwood, concrete, asphalt, and freestyle. .

Spalding has always supported events, competitions, and the activities of TEAM SPALDING freestylers. Through this support, we will continue to support the spread and revitalization of freestyle basketball.
