Ski jumper Noriaki Kasai is still jumping at the age of 51

There he is again. But was Noriaki Kasai even gone? Yes, for a few years: he hadn’t made it to the best in the world for a while. “But it was always my motivation to get it done.” So now the comeback. Man of the day, man of the week, man of the year.

Oh well, Kasai is much more. A phenomenon. Someone who just can’t resist strapping on two long skis to race down the ski jumps around the world. He has been competing in the World Cup since 1988, became ski flying world champion in 1992, and won silver at the 1994 and 2014 Olympic Games.
