SK Sigma Olomouc publicly opposes the repeated and unsubstantiated statements of Michal Kvasnica, editor of Deník Sport, in media outlets not only in the last week. And it invites him to react.
SK Sigma Olomouc respects Deník Sport as the largest sports newspaper in the country. He does not deny anyone the right to his opinion, but at the same time he considers it necessary to fundamentally reject the accusations, hints of accusations and unfounded speculations by editor Michal Kvasnica. Especially those that question the economic condition of the club.
The club does not have “skeletons in the closet”, it does not have “economic problems”, nor is it “losing money”, as Michal Kvasnica has repeatedly claimed, both in the Liga naruby podcast (February 27), in his journalistic texts in Deník Sport and on portal isport.cz, or most recently in the Czech Television Fotbal Fokus Podcast podcast (March 4). In the same way, “lucrative foreign offers” are not hidden from the players.
SK Sigma Olomouc has no debts, it repays all obligations on time. The club’s financial statements are publicly available and are regularly audited.
Michal Kvasnica was asked several times to substantiate his claims and to state what specific economic problems he had in mind, so that the club or individuals could comment on them. But he never did.
SK Sigma Olomouc considers the constant pointing out of the club for unfair practices without any evidence and without the possibility of commenting on specific matters completely unprofessional on the part of the journalist.
False claims about alleged economic problems are significantly damaging the club. Not only in the eyes of fans and the lay public, but also in the eyes of existing partners and, last but not least, in ongoing negotiations on the entry of a foreign investor.
Therefore, all that is left is to publicly invite the editor Michal Kvasnica to this step.
