Sixers Secure Victory Over Mavericks Thanks to Harris and Oubre Jr.

Dallas, on the other hand, couldn’t find its way back into the game, not even when Maxey had to go into the locker room due to an injury after falling against Derrick Jones Jr.’s knee. Instead, the previously pale Kelly Oubre Jr. (21, 7/17) took over for the guests and kept Dallas at a distance. In addition, Tobias Harris (28, 11/19) also played one of his better games this season.

It was also the forward who secured Philly’s victory in the final phase. With 90 seconds left, Irving cut it to -5 again, but Harris responded with a corner three-pointer and a short jumper with 41 seconds left on the clock. Further threes from Irving were merely cosmetic as Maxey and Batum kept their nerve at the line.

The Mavs’ bright spot was Jones Jr., who hit all five of his three-pointers off the bench (21, 7/9). It should also be noted that he couldn’t keep Maxey in front of him, especially in the first half, but he did better later. Maxi Kleber played 25 minutes, but also remained pale with 2 points (0/2 FG), 5 rebounds and 2 assists.

The loss leaves the Mavericks eighth in the West, with the gap to the sixth-placed Suns growing to 1.5 games. The Sixers, on the other hand, are gaining some breathing room and are fifth in the East, one game ahead of seventh place (Orlando).
