Shiffrin wins the final slalom in Saalbach

Mikaela Shffrin won the last slalom of the season on Saturday. At the World Cup final in Saalbach-Hinterglemm in difficult conditions, the American relegated the Norwegian Mina Fürst Holtmann to second place by 0.54 seconds. Third was the half-time leader Anna Swenn-Larsson (+0.63/SWE). Katharina Huber (0.79) took fifth place as the best Austrian, ahead of Katharina Liensberger (0.93).

Shiffrin had already been confirmed as the winner of the Slalom World Cup. In the discipline ranking, the 29-year-old came out ahead of the German Lena Dürr and the injured Slovakian Petra Vlhova. The women’s giant slalom follows in Saalbach on Sunday (9 a.m. or 12 p.m., live on ORF1).
