Seven Dominican athletes to compete in Grand Prix Upper Austria 2024 for Olympic ranking points

SANTO DOMINGO. With the clear objective of adding points for the qualifying ranking for the Olympic Games in Paris, France, seven athletes from the senior judo team will participate this weekend in the Grand Prix Upper Austria 2024.

In the male branch, Antonio Tornal made the trip, at -73 kilos; Robert Florentino, at -90 kilograms; Medickson del Orbe, at -81 kilos, and José Nova, at -100 kilos.

In women, they will compete in the Grand Prix Moira Morillo, in more than 78 kilos; Eiraima Silvestre, at -78 kilos, and Ana Rosa, at -57 kilos.

The Australian Grand Prix Upper, which will be held from the 8th to the 10th of this month, will distribute points for the Olympic Games to be held from July 26 to August 11 of this year in Paris, France.

A total of 528 athletes will participate in the competition, including 300 in the men’s category and 228 in the women’s category, from 78 countries on all five continents.
