At least two players were slapped in front of the public and the cameras. They are still young men of 18, 19 or 20 years old. Fortunately none of the players reacted to the coach’s unfortunate gesture. The scene, widely shared on social networks, caused outrage in Algeria and even abroad.

The France Football journalist shared a tweet from Farid Boussalem, a polytechnic engineer, who commented on the images as follows: “ This is how we teach our children football! Manaa thinks he is in a barracks and slaps young people aged 18-19, this is totally unacceptable ».
Also sharing the video, sports journalist Ishak Chebli simply asked his followers’ opinions: “ How do you find this gesture on the part of Yacine Manaa? ».
Many Internet users found the coach’s gesture ” ashamed » and unworthy of an educator, believing that there are other methods to shake up players.
The gesture is even more serious than that of the former coach of the first team, Djamel Belmadi, who grabbed the player Saïd Benrahma, not happy with his replacement during a friendly match played against Egypt last October in the Emirates. For the record, the Algerian U20s ended up losing the match against the Tunisians 2-3.
