Saudi Arabia Unveils New F1 Racing Circuit in Qiddiya

Jeddah is currently hosting the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. However, this should change in the future.

Saudi Arabia has today officially unveiled its new F1 racing circuit, which will be built in the futuristic city of Qiddiya. The dominant feature of the new racetrack, which should replace Jeddah in the organization of the GP of Saudi Arabia, is to be the artificially elevated opening corner.

Compared to the current venue of the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, which is a semi-urban circuit, the new track should be a full-fledged permanent race track.

The new circuit, which was designed by former F1 driver Alexander Wurz and experienced architect Hermann Tilke, should have 21 turns and a drop of 108 meters.

The media materials also state that the traditional stands for fans will be replaced by “observation terraces”. The area should also include a roller coaster that should run along the track.
