Sara-Tamar Wolsfeld Takes Gold at Thuringia Cup for Female U18s

The Zonser judo talent Sara-Tamar Wolsfeld has continued his successful run. In her numerous successes over the past few months, she has now also added victory in the 30th Thuringia Cup for female U18s in Bad Blankenburg. At the tournament, which also featured top-class international starters, the reigning German champion in the weight class up to 63 kilograms was once again able to impress under the eyes of national coach Christopher Schwarzer.

“Winning here is something special. The tournament impresses with very tough and strong competition. This not only from Europe, but also from overseas. I am overjoyed that I was able to accept the gold medal here,” said Wolsfeld, who competes for the JC 71 Düsseldorf. The Zonserin quickly won the first three fights against Ilse Abels from the Netherlands, against Selina Rautenberg (Lower Saxony) and Anna Lorenz (Saxony). In the quarterfinals it was against the Dutch Kaya Pannegieter, who had recently impressed by winning the silver medal at the European Cup in Berlin. But thanks to her techniques, Sara-Tamar Wolsfeld made it to the semi-finals, where she again faced a Dutch player. Celine Kleijmeer defeated her with two Waza Ari scores, putting her in the final against Belgian champion Aicha Deschepper. In the fight, however, Deschepper found no means against the constantly attacking Zonserin, who convincingly won gold. Wolsfeld continues next week at the European Cup in Teplice, Czech Republic.
