Sacred fuller in pursuit during the Para-cycling Track Worlds

Paralympic pursuit champion, double world champion in 2020 and 2022, Dorian Foulon failed to do it again last year, weakened by a fall in training, a few days before the World Championships in Glasgow. This time, the 25-year-old Breton, licensed to the Urt Vélo 64 club, found his verve again to add a new gold medal to his collection, Thursday during the World Track Para-cycling Championships in Rio.

However, he believes that “it was a little complicated, I was calm but I felt that my legs were in trouble”. But Dorian Foulon has some margin in this discipline. “I started less strong (in the final) than this morning (in qualifying). When I saw that I had a three and a half second lead, I hit the gas. I wanted to catch him at home (the Brazilian Lauro Cesar Mouro Chaman won silver). But at least it clears things up for everyone. »

On the 2nd day of these Track Worlds, the French won two other medals, also in pursuit but in category C4, thanks to Kevin Le Cunff (2nd) and Gatien Le Rousseau (3rd), who are only ahead of the Briton Archie Atkinson.
