Rowland (Nissan) ignites the Tokyo crowd, Günther (Maserati) winner

We will remember that Maximilian Günther won the first e-prix in Tokyo on his Maserati, his first success of the year, but the race of the one he beat in the last laps, Oliver Rowland, as well as the beautiful comeback of the other Nissan driver, Sacha Fenestraz, somewhat brightened up a long procession of almost an hour.

One, with the face – and silhouette – of a pub pillar, finished second, after having taken pole. To the delight of the stands, fully committed to the cause of the cherry blossom-colored cars which screamed their joy at each passage of the Briton. The second, with a baby face and the appearance of a shrimp, went up half the grid, returning from the last row to fail at the points gate (11th), but first Frenchman. Jean-Éric Vergne (DS) is just behind him and Norman Nato pays for his collision in the last laps, penalized by five seconds and relegated to the bottom of the ranking (16th).

In the Championship, the English Nissan driver moved up to third place (54 pts), nine points behind leader Pascal Wehrlein (63). Next round in two weeks in Misano.
