Rostrenen Badminton Team Poised for National Championship Victory

N1 (9th day). Bad’Club de Rostrenen – Caen

The Rostrenois should, this Saturday evening, logically, improve their leadership in pool 1 of Nationale 1 of the badminton interclubs but now Caen, their runner-up, leapfrogged them for the last at home.

The Calvados team had two of its foreign players in a tournament in Poland and preferred not to make the trip.

Despite the disappointment of not having been able to play their last home match of the regular phase, the Centre-Bretons have acquired the certainty of winning their championship and, therefore, of hosting Porz Moëlou, on Saturday, May 4 at 2 p.m., for the play-offs.

The last unknown is the group 2 team which will come to face them because on the other side, everything is played out at loggerheads with several candidates in a tight spot behind the Rennes of Flume Ille.

Saint-Bruno or Oullins in the play-offs?

“I think it will be played between the Bordeaux side of Saint-Bruno and the Lyonnais of Oullins for the second qualifying place,” confides captain Martin Boiveau. If our opponent moves with desire, it will be 50/50. Afterwards, you have to secure a big budget, a big team. Because between the N1 and the Top 12, it is not a step that must be taken, but a staircase. And if the club is not ready, there is no point in looking upwards. We believe in it and we hope for a big Bad celebration that day in Rostrenen. »
