Jackson-Davis stated that he is aware of the significance of having two rookies in a closing lineup for a team like Golden State.

While being interviewed on 95.7 The Game’s Willard & Dibs, Jackson-Davis shared what he said to Brandin Podziemski after Podziemski missed a layup that could have tied the game in the last six seconds of the Warriors’ 125-122 defeat to the Chicago Bulls at Chase Center on Thursday.

The 24-year-old tall player shared how he utilized that unique instance to inspire Podziemski, noting that there will be additional chances in similar high-pressure situations in the future. What TJD told Podz after missed game-tying layup vs. Bulls originally appeared on NBC Sports Bay AreaTrayce Jackson-Davis is only in his first NBA season, but the Warriors rookie big man brings a seasoned veteran’s mindset when it comes to picking up a teammate.

Although Podziemski failed to make an important shot towards the end of the fourth quarter in Thursday’s defeat against the Bulls, the young guard played a crucial role in keeping the Warriors within reach of a potential victory.

“Podziemski is very confident, and I appreciate that quality,” Jackson-Davis said to Mark Willard and Dan Dibley during their conversation on Friday. “It’s unfortunate that he missed that shot last night, but we reminded him that there will be many more opportunities like that. The fact that he was in that situation and had a chance to take those shots at the end of the game demonstrates his hard work paying off.”

As the Golden State team prepares for their final stretch, they will heavily rely on Podziemski and Jackson-Davis to help them secure a spot in the NBA playoffs.

“He will continue to radiate and contribute his enthusiasm and assurance to our team, as it is greatly needed. He brings immense energy and being inspired by his success instills a sense of confidence that you too can achieve the same.”

Jackson-Davis contributed eight points and four rebounds in 18 minutes of playing time against Chicago. He successfully made all three of his field goal attempts.

“I simply informed him that he will have another chance,” said Jackson-Davis. “Both of us are at the beginning of our careers, so it’s remarkable to be on the court at the end of the game, in Chase Center, with two rookies. It was a surreal experience.”
