The judo and wrestling hall of the SV Halle in Kreuzvorwerk is being extensively renovated. The city of Halle announced this. Accordingly, the Bundestag’s budget exclusion approved 4.2 million euros from a funding program for the renovation of municipal sports facilities.
The city of Halle itself has to raise another 1.4 million euros. The president of SV Halle, Hardy Gnewuch, spoke of an “incredible Easter present” in a press release.
Renovation is scheduled to begin in 2025
The training hall, which was built more than 100 years ago as a horse stable, is used by around 500 SV Halle athletes and urgently needs to be renovated to improve energy efficiency, among other things. According to Bundestag member Karamba Diaby (SPD), who prepared the application for funding together with the city, construction work is scheduled to start next year.
