Registration Open for FADOQ Rive-Sud-Suroît Regional Senior Games until March 31

Launched on February 5, the registration period for the FADOQ Rive-Sud-Suroît Regional Senior Games continues until March 31. Last year, nearly 700 people aged 50 and over participated in the various activities.

For its 30th edition, the program brings together eleven disciplines, four of which will take place in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu. Fans of the military Whist card game will meet on Wednesday, April 24 from 9 a.m. to noon at the FADOQ Iberville Club. The site will be able to accommodate 40 teams of four players.

This is also where the darts tournament will take place on Wednesday, May 1, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sixteen teams of four players will be able to participate.

Return of billiards

After a break last year, the billiard tournament is back. Players are expected on Thursday, May 2, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at Billiards O’Tips, in the Saint-Luc sector. The organizers will be able to accommodate 20 teams of two players.

The Vallée des Forts golf club will welcome golfers on Wednesday, May 29 for the last activity of the Senior Games. The maximum number is 36 teams of four players.

Other disciplines

Riddle (card game) enthusiasts are expected on Thursday April 25, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the FADOQ Club in Saint-Mathias de Rouville. Singles (40 players) and doubles (40 teams of two players) games are on the program.

The pocket baseball activity will take place on Tuesday, May 7, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Saint-Michel Community Center. Up to ten teams of ten people can play.

The shuffleboard activity will take place on Wednesday, May 8, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the FADOQ Saint-Joachim-de-Châteauguay Club. The organizers will be able to accommodate a maximum of sixteen teams of two players.

The Volta Bowling Hall in Boucherville will welcome small bowling players on Monday, May 13 starting at 9 a.m. The maximum number of places is 24 teams of five players per hour of play. Please note that the big bowling activity will not be back this year.

Immaculée-Conception Park in Saint-Hubert will be the site of the pétanque competition on Wednesday, May 22, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. In total, the organizers will be able to accommodate 48 teams of three players.

Pickleball

The popular sport of pickleball is officially entering the program for the Regional Senior Games in 2024. Twelve teams of two players per category (men, women and mixed) will be able to meet on Saturday, May 25, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. , at Handel Park in Candiac.

This is also where the Prediction Walk will take place on Monday, May 27. The 1 km walk for teams of four will take place at 9 a.m. and the individual walk at 10 a.m.
