This Sunday will be the 60th edition of the traditional Ascension to the Angelswhich is organized by GEiEG. That is why the registration process for the mountain race has already opened, which must be done through the GEiEG website and one euro from each number will go to Cáritas Diocesana de Girona.
“La Pujada als Àngels perfectly represents three essences of Girona: the strategic location at the foot of the Gavarres, the citizens’ passion for sport and the love of the Girona people for nature”, he explained in the presentation of today the Councilor for Sports and Youth of Girona City Council, Adam Bertrand.
The race will have a route of 9,1 km leaving at the Santa Llúcia hill, next to the church of Sant Pere de Galligants, at 9:00 am. The arrival will be the first step of the sanctuary of the Angels, passing by the fountain of the Bishop, the house of the Figs and the rise of the “Matahomes”. In total, there is one cumulative difference in level of 485 meters. Number numbers can be collected on the morning of the race or the day before, on Saturday 16 March, in the afternoon, at the Bauhaus Girona store.
There will be three formats: the competitive race, the popular march and the inclusive modality.
