Austria’s football team boss Ralf Rangnick has nominated his first squad of 2024 at the start of the European Championship year for the training camp next week in Marbella as well as the following tests against Slovakia (March 23 in Bratislava) and Turkey (March 26 in Vienna). Stefan Lainer is making a comeback in the national team nine months after his diagnosis of lymph node cancer. There is also a debutant from Rapid Vienna in his squad: offensive man Christoph Lang is in the squad.
Four ÖFB regular players are missing: David Alaba, Sasa Kalajdzic (both torn cruciate ligaments), Marko Arnautovic (muscle injury) and Philipp Lienhart (groin operation).
