Referee Cancels Football Match Due to Field Lines not Meeting Regulations at KFC Sint-Lenaarts

About an hour before kick-off on Saturday evening, the referee determined that the lines on the football field of KFC Sint-Lenaarts were not in accordance with the regulations. They were crooked and in some places there was so much mud that the white line was no longer visible. The Gazet van Antwerpen writes this and the news has been confirmed to us.

The club board immediately admitted the mistake and proposed to correct the situation. “We have called in 8 people and set up two line marking machines,” says chairman Jos De Beuckelaer. “But half an hour before kick-off, the referee decided that the match could no longer be played. We don’t think that is correct. We wanted to make another attempt.”
