MEXICO CITY .- The Red Devils of Mexico continue to add Major League quality to their roster for the 2024 Season of the Mexican Baseball League (LMB) by announcing the arrival of Dominican infielder Robinson Canó.

At the same time that the team is in full Preseason at the Alfredo Harp Helú Baseball Academy, in Oaxaca, the board of directors of the ‘Pandilla Escarlata’ continues working to have the most solid, balanced and deep roster to face the campaign summer and that is why it incorporates the author of 335 home runs and 1,306 runs produced in 17 seasons in the Major Leagues.

Canó arrives at the Red Devils after having played the 2023-2024 Season of the Dominican League (LIDOM) with the Estrellas Orientales and having participated in the Caribbean Series, events in which he saw action in 32 games (24 in the LIDOM and 8 in the Caribbean Series), adding 28 hits.

The player born in San Pedro de Macorís, came to MLB in 2005 and donned the five-ninth jersey, highlighting 9 seasons with the New York Yankees, with whom he was champion in 2009.

In addition, he played five seasons with the Seattle Mariners, three with the New York Mets and partially with the San Diego Padres and Atlanta Braves.

At 18 years old, Robinson Canó began his career in 2001 with the Yankees, receiving the call to the Major Leagues in 2005.

From that moment on he became the second baseman of the New York team, being part of the team that won the title alongside Derek Jeter, Alex Rodríguez, Hideki Matsui, Jorge Posada, Mariano Rivera, Andy Pettite, among others.

Along with his career in MLB, Robinson Canó has represented the Dominican Republic by having played in the World Baseball Classic in the last editions: 2009, 2013, 2017 and 2023.

In these events he has participated in 19 games, with 25 hits, three home runs, 10 RBIs and 13 runs scored. Likewise, Canó has been part of the Dominican League in six seasons and in four editions of the Caribbean Series.

With the arrival of Robinson Canó, the Red Devils of Mexico strengthen their infield for the 2024 Season, confirming their commitment to putting together a roster that will offer a great show on the field and with which the road to title number 17 will be built. .
