Saturday 23 March, afternoon match at the stadium Iorio of Casalnuovo for the match between the hosts of Real Casalnuovo and the Sicilians of Sancataldese.
The players warm up on the pitch, the local ultras arrive and gather outside the walls of the stadium, starting to sing the first chants to demonstrate their presence, while a good number of local fans have already filled the seats in the stands.
We can only give credit to the ultras from San Cataldo who arrive at Casalnuovo having covered a lot of kilometres: despite the fact that the away sector has no stands and is objectively not exactly beautiful, as well as being uncomfortable for the fans, they stand up and place their pieces among the huge billboards. There are about fifteen red-green ultras, among them also the presence of Enna’s friends made known by a patch. Excellent performance of cheering and support for their team on a good quality pitch, clearly in proportion to their numbers.
The local ultras make their entrance once the game has started. They position themselves in the center of the sector waving a flag and displaying the “Ultras for life” patch. They are a group of about twenty people but their performance is very convincing, embellished with several handclaps and some torches.
On the pitch the teams are fierce from the first minutes, but the second half is all about the local team who doesn’t give up and wins three fundamental points for the playoff zone. Homecoming will be longer than expected for the visiting fans, given the meager loot achieved by their team, but the awareness of having played their part to the end remains and that’s enough.
