The dream of a cup treble for RB Leipzig has burst! The console professionals from RBLZ Gaming, the Saxony’s e-sports department, missed out on their third championship title in a row.
In the final of the Virtual Bundesliga, Umut Gültekin (21) and Anders Vejrgang (18) surprisingly suffered a 1-2 defeat against SC Paderborn!
After the duo’s first defeat in two-on-two (3:4 nV) in three years, Dane-Vejrgang gave the defending champions hope again with a 3:1 against Jonas Wirth (18). But top star Gültekin lost his first singles of the season (1:2) and thus the title straight away, despite his great superiority against Jamie Bartel (18).

RBLZ coach Daniel Fehr (32): “The disappointment is of course huge. We wanted to win the title for the third time in a row today and reached the final again. The final had everything to offer, but unfortunately it wasn’t enough for us in the end.”
