Raising Awareness on the Dangers of Psychotropic Drugs: CCDU’s Information Stand at Le Rondinelle

On Saturday 23 March, the Citizens’ Committee for Human Rights (CCDU) ​​held an information stand at the historic Brescia shopping center “Le Rondinelle” located in Roncadelle (BS).

Over 450 leaflets on psychotropic drugs were distributed by

titles: What is TSO – Antipsychotics – Antidepressants – Anxiolytics and sedatives -Psychotropic drugs – Psychostimulants – Mood regulators, with the aim of raising awareness among citizens of the dangers of psychotropic substances. Together with the brochures, just as many QR Code flyers were distributed which take you back to the similar section of the CCDU official website ccdu.org/psicofarmaci [1] where you can view detailed information as well as download the digital version of the brochures.

Many stopped to examine the material available, asking for more details and appreciating the initiative. One person recounted a sad episode regarding the death of his brother due to abuse of psychotropic drugs. Even a psychologist has stated her opposition to the excess of these substances.

The information stand also received, among others, a visit from two volunteers from an important association, who suggested involving their managers in the reform of the TSO.

As part of an international campaign, the Citizens Committee on Human Rights (CCHR) Onlus is a non-profit voluntary association that has been investigating and reporting psychiatric human rights violations around the world for more than 50 years.
