The master tournament in Miami is not affected by good weather at the start. This also affects Jannik Sinner, who meets Azzurro Andrea Vavassori in his first match.

Sinner and Vavassori have never duel on the ATP tour – and even now the two have to wait. The game in Miami was supposed to have taken place on the European night on Saturday, but had to be postponed. The reason: rain.

Shortly before midnight (CET), Sinner and the Piedmontese, who is ranked 148th in the world, started their match. Around 20 minutes later it rained and the game was interrupted when the score was 3:2 for Sinner. The two professionals stayed on the court for a while before going to the changing rooms to wait. Another hour later the match was finally abandoned. It had already rained heavily in Miami, which is why the game between Sinner and the doubles specialist from Turin was postponed.

Schedule messed up

In addition to the Sinner game, two other games were interrupted. Stefanos Tsitsipas and Denis Shapovalov, like Andy Murray and Tomas Etcheverry, had to end their working day after a few rallies. In addition, numerous other games had to be postponed, which caused a lot of disruption to the schedule at the 1000 tournament on the US East Coast.
