Monterrey, Nuevo León, (MARCRIX News), March 27, 2024.- The first part of the Quintana Roo delegation in the badminton discipline managed to qualify three players for the CONADE 2024 Nationals, this after successfully passing the National Qualifier corresponding to the Under-17 categories and U-19, which was played in the city of Monterrey, Nuevo León.

It should be noted that in this first round of this discipline, Quintana Roo participated with three athletes and all three managed to advance to the last phase of the most important amateur sports event in the country.

The one who stood out in royal lands was Patricio Meling from Quintana Roo, as he managed to advance in the two modalities in which he participated, reaching the quarterfinal stage and finishing among the best in his divisions.

The first ticket obtained was in the Mixed Doubles modality, here the twins Patricio and Isabel Meling achieved their direct qualification by winning two consecutive rounds; Already in the Quarterfinal round, but already a qualified zone, they beat the Chihuahuans Juan García and Cindy Naranjo by scores of 21-16 and 21-6; Later, they fell to the Jalisco team José Gutiérrez Valeria Moreno.

In the Men’s Doubles category, Patricio Meling, who teamed up with Eric de la Garza, had a great performance, finishing among the eight best couples in the qualifier and thus securing their place in the final phase of the CONADE 2024 Nationals.

For her part, the young Isabel Meling came to this tie in ninth place nationally, already in the competition she defeated Kenya Rivas from Guanajuato; She subsequently fell to the number one ranked Camila Morales of Baja California; and then she surpassed Laura Santos from Chihuahua and Renata Ramos from Guanajuato, with these results helping her secure her qualification.
