Québécois Édouard Julien shines in final spring training game before Minnesota Twins’ regular season opener

Quebecer Édouard Julien obtained a hit in two appearances Tuesday during his team’s last preparatory game won 9-6 by the Minnesota Twins over the Atlanta Braves.

The second baseman scored once on Byron Buxton’s double in the first inning. He was also struck out once.

Since the start of training camp, Julien has a batting average of .342 and an OPS of .994. He was the author of two home runs and seven RBIs during preseason games.

He went to bat 38 times, getting 13 hits and scoring ten times. He also stole a base.

Last year, in his first season in the major leagues, Julien had a .263 plate average with 16 home runs and 37 RBIs.

The Twins will begin their regular season Thursday in Kansas City against the Royals.

For his part, Abraham Toro did not obtain a hit in four appearances in a 3-1 victory for the Oakland A’s over the San Francisco Giants.

Toro finishes camp with a .333 batting average. He hit 16 times in 48 appearances this spring. He also has a home run and drove in nine runs.
