Provincial Opening Tournament of the Buenos Aires Judo Federation a Success in 9 de Julio City

With the participation of Dojos from several districts of the province of Buenos Aires, La Pampa, Neuquén, Federal Capital, of the Eastern Republic of Uruguay, in addition to the Judo School of the San Martin Club and the 9 de Julio Dojo, the Last Saturday the 16th in the city of 9 de Julio, at the “Francisco Pastor” Gym, the Provincial Opening Tournament of the Buenos Aires Judo Federation (FBJudo), thus beginning the provincial tournament for the current year.

The meeting had the support of the Club and the Municipality of 9 de Julio, in addition to local companies, and having this sport in the city, in addition to awakening interest in Judo, also contributed to the local economy, I highlight, the Municipal Mayor, María José Gentile, prior to the opening ceremony that took place around midday.

The Tournament was attended by the President of the FB Judo, Ariel Sganga, who is also Director of the National Judo Team, and who, in dialogue with the press, thanked the determined support of the local municipality, and informed that the national team would travel this week to European countries to compete for qualification for the 2024 France Olympic Games.

At the opening ceremony, the host, the San Martin Club Dojo, its teacher, Santiago Falco, thanked the addition to the call on July 9, the support of the San Martin Club and the Municipality, while the Municipal Mayor, María José Gentile, accompanied
by officials from her Cabinet, one of the speakers, in addition to wishing them success, publicly stated, “I want to thank and welcome the different delegations that visit our city today, as well as the representatives of the organization and the San Martín Club for carrying forward this wonderful event on July 9, which will always have its doors open to receive you and enjoy this competition that is a true source of pride for the city,” said Gentile.

In dialogue with El Regional Digital, Gentile highlighted that the arrival of the Judo Tournament to our city contributed to the local economy, since hotel, gastronomic services and shops of all kinds were used.

Then councilor Julio Bordone, president of the Deliberative Council of the 9 de Julio party, delivered a copy of the
Resolution that declared the contest “Of Municipal Legislative Interest.”

The competition began at 8:30 a.m. with the minor categories and ended after 7 p.m., with outstanding fights by provincial and other province judokas, and where medals were then awarded to the winners in the different categories.
