The Provincial Group of VOX in the Provincial Council of Granada has achieved unanimous support from the rest of the parties for the motion presented in the March plenary session in order to implement the activity of archery y remo to improve functional recovery, health and the quality of life of women after passing the breast cancer.
The provincial deputy of VOX, Gustavo de Castro, has detailed that the initiative consists of “creating a program of the Provincial Council that collaborates with already established associations and the same association against cancer, establishing a list of those interested in this activity to hold workshops of archery on a rotating basis in the different facilities of the province, also promoting sports in nature and thus helping in the recovery process of so many women who have suffered this type of cancer.”
After thanking the representatives of the Remama Associationwhich is made up of women from the province of Granada who have suffered or are suffering from breast cancer, the VOX deputy recalled the benefits that this sport practice could have among said women, both on somatic aspects and on psychosocial and emotional aspects, always according to hospital medical selection. “Archery and rowing improve the strength and agility of the arm affected by the surgery of the breast on the same side, especially if there has been lymph node removal, but it also has a preventive component of the disease,” detailed the VOX provincial deputy.
De Castro has indicated that the initiative has a vision of Health in All Policies (STP), promoting synergies through collaboration between the city councils through the sports departments and the archery club facilities of The basethe Beylor Park environmental education center in Huétor Tájarthe archery club Alphacarthe Avenida de la Alfaguara sports complex in Nívarthe yesares adventure park in the Puebla de Don Fabriquethe archery range of Chewed up the Olympic shooting technology center in The Gabias.
