Piazza Cavalli is a yellow tide, a tide of enthusiastic children who this afternoon sent a clear message to the organizers of the Tour de France: “We can’t wait for July 1st to arrive.” Yes, because Piacenza, on July 1st, will be the starting point for one of the initial stages.
Exactly one hundred days to go and our city wanted to send this message, physically formed by the hundreds of children who formed a real living writing. Not to mention the evocative video mapping projected on the Governor’s Palace.
Guest of the day Vittorio Brumotti, television host and correspondent for Striscia la Notizia, famous for his cycling evolutions. Brumotti, in recent days, shot some videos on the streets of Piacenza, with the aim of promoting our territory. Yes, because the key word is precisely this: “promotion”.
“Piacenza must be ready to welcome all those who have seen the images of the Tour de France. We will do many things between now and July 1st but the important thing is what will happen after July 1st”, the mayor said at the press conference Katia Tarasconi. The mayor wanted to launch an appeal today to the hundreds of people in the square: “Today we are 100 days away from the tour, it seems to me that we are now starting to realize a little what it means, it is a great opportunity for the city, to attract tourists, to make ourselves known. Let’s not waste this opportunity”.
Brumotti to the little ones: “Study, play sports and help your family”
Vittorio Brumotti then involved adults and children by launching important messages especially for the little ones, messages of sport, education and healthy values.
“Always pay attention to the little ones, I always say it, and I always tell you one thing to you little ones: it is a particular moment in Italy and in the world, I recommend that if you choose a sport, choose it to the hilt, it’s not that you play basketball, football, water polo, because your parents do more to please you than me, that is, they bend over backwards to make ends meet, ok? Since you are people, you are now little men, help your family, having a family is the most beautiful, extraordinary thing that exists, ok? You are lucky and I recommend you concentrate and study, the final verdict will arrive soon, we are in the home stretch, we hope to see everyone promoted. “Nobody forbids us from being so “friendly”, because cycling is community. Conquering the community is not achieved with sponsors and initiatives, but only by cycling. Brotherhood is created, the bicycle has no political color, it has no color, well today yellow. The beautiful thing about cycling is that you throw yourself into the saddle, work hard, and sport together, discipline, sweat together, it creates brotherhood”, said Brumotti.
