After Daniele Torelli, Piacenza adds another player to their game. Also from Reggio Emilia comes the young prospect Freinoil Carrasco, 18 years old, pitcher. Together with Torelli he is among the excellences of the Reggio Emilia youth sector and his arrival in the red and white is part of a growth program aimed at his valorisation. Of Dominican origins, Carrasco has lived in Italy since he was very young and spent his entire career at youth level in Reggio, on several occasions also being an opponent of the same age from Piacenza. On several occasions he was part of the regional representatives. Last year he divided his time between the U18 championship (which he will continue to attend with the Reggio jersey this year too) and the Serie C. The excellent progress he has shown has convinced the Reggio staff to make him debut in Serie A in the course of year. This winter he spent a period of training and improvement at an academy in the Dominican Republic before returning to Reggio and continuing his preparation in view of the 2024 season. Once the registration procedures have been completed, Carrasco will join his new teammates also in view of the first pre-season friendlies.
