Piacenza Basket Club Overcomes Valtarese in Hard-Fought Away Match

The Piacenza Basket Club emerges victorious from the difficult away match in Borgo Val di Taro in the presence of a never tamed Valtarese team.

Coach Bertozzi’s boys started the game characterized by low shooting percentages. Giani and his teammates took advantage of this by closing the first quarter ahead 13-11.

The energy of the Piacenza bench allows the red and whites to get back on track going into halftime at +7 (28-35). Valtarese responds promptly in the third quarter, also taking advantage of some distractions from the Piacenza defense.

After 30 minutes the score is perfectly equal at 48. The decisive advantage for the guests comes only towards the end thanks to 5 consecutive points from Massari and heavy baskets from Matteo Rigoni which effectively close the contest.

It ends 73-64 in favor of the red and whites who thus return to victory after last day’s defeat in Fidenza. The Piacenza Basket Club will take to the field again after the Easter break in the away match at the home of the Parma Basket Project, on Sunday 7 April, with a tap-off set for 8pm.
