Petrochemical Archery Club Prepares for Busy Year Ahead

With a new subcommittee that took office in February, the Petrochemical Archery Club projects a busy year.

The Km. 8 institution has the Pre-World Cup ahead of it, with Juan Carlos Rodríguez and Gabriel Rivas who will seek to qualify for the World Cup in Slovenia; and with the organization of the National Field Games Final in Comodoro Rivadavia.

Rodríguez and Rivas, who last year were part of the Argentine Archery Team with great achievements, will be competing in the Pre-World Cup in the town of Pedro Luro, province of Buenos Aires.

In the competition, which will take place on March 30 and 31, the Comodor archers will seek qualification for the World Cup in Slovenia, to be held from September 29 to October 6.

“It is one of the most important tournaments of this year, we have every faith to qualify and in September we can go to Slovenia. With Juan Carlos Rodríguez we are positioning ourselves as the best in the country so we have every hope,” said Gabriel Rivas, who is also the new president.

“If we qualify we will have to knock on many doors to seek help because we want to reach the World Cup and represent the country, Comodoro, the club and our families, who always support us,” he added and said that they will be accompanied by Luciano Mena, Cristian Núñez , Ariel Rivas and Miguel Prat, all members of Tiro con Arco Petrochemical.

On the other hand, it was confirmed that the Petrochemical Archery Club will host the National Field Games Final in November: “They asked us to hold the National Field Games Final, I told the new subcommittee and they accepted, so We are going to go all out, to do something very nice so that archers from all over the country come and take home a nice memory,” Rivas said.

Gabriel Rivas stated that they have “a very busy year” and justified it: “We started in February with the change of the subcommittee. We are also working on the new property we have at the club; and we had a field games tournament, our first tournament, which was difficult but we all enjoyed it, there were a hundred people participating.”

To close, he valued the support of the municipal State: “It is very important to always have the support of Comodoro Deportes. Before taking office we already knew that the support was always there and, for what has taken us this year of a lot of work, the support of Comodoro Deportes gives you peace of mind.”
