Perigord Judo Success: 7 Young Cadet Judokas Qualify for French 1st Division Championships

They come from different geographical sectors of the Dordogne, 7 young cadet judokas from Perigord qualified for the French 1st Division Championships, this weekend in Paris. We look back on their performances with one of the judo teachers, Laurent Cubertafon.

We might as well say it straight away, this is very good news for the future of Perigord judo. The qualification of 7 young judokas for the 2024 French Championships is an excellent overall result. Last year there were only 2 and two years ago there were none. This is already a good year for judo in the Dordogne. We invited to Sport en Périgord, Laurent Cubertafonjudo teacher within the Alliance Judo Dordogne Périgord.

7 qualified for the French cadet championships

On March 30 and 31, 2024, the French Judo Championships for cadets in the 1st Division will take place at the National Judo Institute in Paris. The Dordogne has qualified 7 young judokas, which is a record, especially if we refer to the last two years. Laurent Cubertafon, judo teacher within the AJDP, gives us the list of the 7 qualified, girls and boys, 4 are part of the France hopeful pole and they will be accompanied by three other young people from Périgord. The objective is to make at least one podium. Young girls and boys who really come from all corners of the department.
