Pedri begins to do field work and is getting closer to recovery

BARCELONA, 28 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) –

FC Barcelona player Pedri is already doing field work on the pitch at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper and continues to make progress in his recovery, after being injured at the beginning of March and the club not giving an estimated time out.

Pedri was injured on Sunday, March 3, in the San Mamés match against Athletic Club, corresponding to matchday 27 of LaLiga EA Sports and which ended with the initial result. Although it is not known when he will be able to return to the playing fields, seeing him on the pitch is good news for the interests of the ‘culer’ team.

“The tests carried out have confirmed that the first team player Pedri suffers an injury to the rectus femoris of his right thigh. It is low and his evolution will determine his availability,” the Blaugrana club commented at the time.

Pedri left the field shortly before half-time and was replaced by Lamine Yamal as soon as he noticed the injury to his right thigh. Prior to that play, in which he cleared a ball and noticed the muscle puncture, the Canary Islands midfielder had noticed discomfort after getting his leg caught in a fortuitous action.

The one at San Mamés was Pedri’s 24th game this season in all competitions, with 2 goals and 4 assists to his name. However, the campaign is marked by injuries, and he has already missed 9 games in this League, between matchdays 3 and 11, due to a muscle injury in his thigh, also in his right leg but then in the rectus femoris.

The rest of the first team players trained normally at the Ciutat Esportiva, with the last national team break over and with all the internationals back. A session aimed at preparing the visit of UD Las Palmas to Barcelona this Saturday.
