PBSI continues to carry out evaluations despite success at All England

Jakarta

Indonesian badminton is on a positive track following two championship titles All England 2024. But evaluation is still being carried out because the opponents will also improve.

This was conveyed by the Head of PBSI Achievement Development, Ricky Soebagdja. According to him, this is important to do because before the Olympics, all countries will be observing each other’s strength maps.

“Evaluation will always be there because all countries will definitely study our games and we must also, on the other hand, continue to study our opponents’ improvements,” said Ricky in his statement via PBSI.

As is known, Indonesia is showing off at All England 2024. In the BWF Super 1000 tournament, Jonatan Christie and Anthony Sinisuka Ginting faced off in the men’s singles final, with the first name being the champion. The men’s doubles Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto also won. This happened after failing at the French Open.

This achievement is not just about getting a title but making history for Indonesian badminton. Jonathan and Ginting repeated the achievements of their seniors, Harianto Arbi and Ardi Wiranata, in the 1994 All England final.

Meanwhile, Fajar/Rian also repeated the success of their colleagues and predecessors who managed to win twice in a row in this prestigious and oldest tournament in the world. Previously there were Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo/Marcus Fernaldi Gideon who won the All England 2017 and 2018, then Ricky Soebagdja/Rexy Mainaky at the All England 1995 and 1996, and Tjun/Johan Wahjudi.

Even for Tjun/Johan, they were All England four times in a row in 1977, 1978, 1979, 1980. Previously, Meteka also won in 1974 and 1975. Above them was Christian Hadinata/Ade Chandra who became champions at All England in 1972 and 1973.

“This is a very good moment. This very positive trend must be understood by players and coaches on how to maintain their peak performance until they reach the Olympics,” said Ricky.

“Commitment and focus on the remaining time until the Asian Championships. After that, compete for seeding and reach the peak in Paris later. Hopefully the achievements in these two sectors can be maintained, men’s singles and men’s doubles. And ignite motivation for other sectors so they can be even better ,” Ricky hoped.
