Parma Clima’s busy preparation program for the baseball championship will continue tomorrow – bad weather permitting – with a friendly match against Poviglio.
The match, scheduled to last seven rounds, will be played at 2pm on the Cavalli stadium as part of Parma Spring Training. «The preparation is taking place without any particular hitches – explains manager Saccardi –. This evening the Cuban pitchers Casanova and Figueredo will arrive in Parma accompanied by the coach Morejon while tomorrow morning the Spanish Encarnacion will land in Bologna. Obviously we won’t see them at work in tomorrow’s match but I expect to be able to use them already in next Wednesday’s match against Sala Baganza. Next week the other EU and foreign players will also join the team. In about ten days I will have the full roster available”.
For tomorrow’s match the Parma technical staff will therefore be able to count on the players already used in the first two outings against Collecchio and Heidenheim. «Tommaso Battioni will be missing due to a personal commitment – specifies Saccardi –. Next week he and Angioi will take part in the national team gathering in view of the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games. We have already agreed with Poviglio to play tomorrow’s match with the necessary flexibility required by the situation”.
The Parma Clima calendar will continue at 6.30pm on Wednesday 3 April with a match against Sala Baganza. On Saturday 6 April (3.30 pm) and Sunday 7 April (3 pm) Saccardi’s team will be involved in the second edition of the Marvasi Memorial at the Cavalli. The opponents of the day will be Oltretorrente and Modena.
