Parma Clima Defeats Heidenheim 7-3 in Pre-Season Victory

Parma Clima scored their second pre-season success by defeating the German champions Heidenheim this afternoon with a score of 7 to 3 at the end of a pleasant and balanced match.

The four points scored by the Ducali were decisive during an eighth inning characterized by two serious errors by the Germans and by the hits of the young Guglielmi and the veterans Gonzalez and Astorri. Scotti and Bocchi alternated successfully on the Parma pitcher’s mound, replaced in the last innings by Carnevale and Santana. Flisi (2 out of 3) and Gonzalez (2 out of 4) stood out in batting. Good performances also from Angioi and Scerrato, authors of a triple and a double respectively.

THE NEWS

Parma Clima broke the deadlock in the third inning. The protagonists are the new signings Scerrato and Angioi, eager to stand out. The Neptune native opened the half with an intelligent move to the right that surprised the winger Dinski while the Cagliari native exploded a deep triple between the center fielder and the right fielder. A wild throw from the highly rated Schueller allowed Parma Clima to take a 2-0 lead. Heidenheim halved the deficit in the sixth round against Bocchi, who had now reached the threshold of 60 throws. The pitcher from Parma lined up five consecutive strikeouts but opened the sixth round by granting a base ball to leadoff Schulz: the subsequent singles by Germaine and Guehring allowed his teammate to complete the round of the bases.

The German overtaking took place in the seventh inning against the reliever Carnevale, on loan for the occasion from Oltretorrente. Liedtke hit a base ball and Holl hit a double down the left foul line, as Elias Redle’s sacrifice fly and wild pitch gave the German champions a 3-2 lead.

The home team responded immediately and found the equalizer at the change of ends. Noel Gonzalez and Mineo opened the attack with two consecutive singles and Flisi hit his second personal hit of the day by knocking home the point to make it 3-3.

In the eighth inning, characterized by the return of Astorri to his old role as catcher, Heidenheim wasted a wonderful opportunity with the bases full and only one out while Parma Clima took advantage of a similar situation (single by Guglielmi followed by two consecutive errors) to score the points of success thanks to a sacrifice fly by Battioni and singles by Noel Gonzalez and Astorri.
