Ripalta Cremasca, 02 March 2024

(Sara Barbieri) The sporting journey of the young Ripaltese archer Paola Natale, national athlete in the Compound Bow division, continues at full steam.

Two weeks ago he participated in the Italian indoor archery championship in Pordenone from 15 to 18 February, considered the most important event of the Italian Archery Federation.

The result of the qualifying races was good: among the 109 athletes in the Female Compound category, Natale placed 7th overall after entering the top sixteen athletes. She thus gained entry to the direct elimination for the absolute title.

A month ago she participated in the final Indoor World Series qualifying race in Las Vegas and was among the top sixteen athletes in the world.

And the memory of the final with the conquest of the gold medal in Lausanne (Switzerland) in November 2023 after an excellent race is still alive.

The victory came in the play-offs with a tight duel against her national teammate Marcella Tonioli. The two athletes overtook each other in a succession of competitive volleys until the play-off arrow which decreed the victory for the Crema team.

Paola, 23 years old, has been cultivating this great passion since 2013 and at the same time studies Computer Engineering at the University of Bergamo.

Of course, it is not easy to reconcile the two activities but, based on the sports season and related commitments, Paola manages to dedicate time to studying and training.

Upcoming future plans?

The outdoor season will begin soon: several evaluation competitions with national groups in view of international events.

And naturally all of Bolzone (and beyond) will cheer for her!
