No Appeal for Aston Martin and Fernando Alonso after FIA decision in Australian GP

For Aston Martin and in particular for Fernando Alonso, no appeal after the FIA’s decision at the end of last Sunday’s Australian GP; where the Spanish driver was penalized 20″ for being held responsible for triggering the accident that occurred to George Russell at the end of the race.

This was made known by the team itself, through the words of team principal Mike Krackwhich essentially explained how there were no further elements or evidence available to the defense to reopen the case.

“Fernando Alonso – says the press releaseor – he received a 20 second penalty when there was no contact whatsoever between him and the car behind him, and that is a particularly bitter pill to swallow. But we accepted the decision.”

A bitter pill to swallow for the two-time world champion who ultimately found himself eighth, far from the sixth position he had gained during the Grand Prix. Now, however, the Asturian’s mind is turned to his next commitment: the Suzuka GP in Japan, scheduled for Sunday 7 April.
