Yes, that’s right: that still exists too! Nick Kyrgios has announced that his recovery from surgery is going better than expected and he wants to return to the ATP Tour this spring. Until now, it was more likely that they would return in the middle of the year.

After two knee operations and a torn wrist ligament, the Australian has only played one tournament in the last 18 months, but he wants to attack again in just over a month. “I feel great, but I’m taking it one day at a time,” Kyrgios said in an email to UTS organizers. “It was a pretty significant operation, so we’ll see how it goes.”

UTS appearance in the Big Apple

In any case, Kyrgios has registered for the UTS event New York, which will be held from August 22nd to 23rd in the legendary Forest Hills, the former venue of the US Open.

In recent months, however, the Australian has been more noticeable when he has clashed with the rest of the world. Among other things, there was a memorable exchange of blows with Boris Becker on social media when Kyrgios accused Becker’s generation of lacking class and expressed the opinion that Becker & Co. were fighting a losing battle against the current generation.

Hopefully Nick Kyrgios will soon be able to prove what he can do again.
