New Clay Court Season Upgrade: Hamburg’s Rothenbaum to Host ATP Tournament Before French Open Starting 2025

Are the really big tennis stars now returning to Hamburg’s Rothenbaum? The traditional ATP 500 tournament in Hamburg will have a new date from 2025 and will then take place again in the classic clay court season. This is an important upgrade for the Rothenbaum – which takes on much greater importance due to the date immediately before the French Open.

Next year the tournament will be played in Hamburg from May 18th to 24th – immediately before the French Open. This emerges from the tournament calendar for 2025, which the ATP published on Friday. The Rothenbaum is one of the last tests before the Grand Slam tournament and becomes an important dress rehearsal for the big tennis stars before Roland Garros. The only parallel event is a 250cc tournament in Geneva.
